The National Speakers Association Greater Los Angeles Chapter (NSA GLAC) is proud to continue its acclaimed Speakers Academy for 2017 - shortening the professional speakers' learning curve now in its 17th year. This program will turbo-charge your career by helping you:
- Chart your own course for speaking success based on your unique goals and aspirations as a part time or full time speaker
- Develop the four core competencies of the professional speaker
- Gain powerful and practical insights, on a monthly basis, from professional speakers who are practicing what you are learning

- Build lasting relationships with other Academy attendees, NSA GLAC, and Academy expert faculty to help build a successful speaking business

Sessions begin on Saturday, April 8th, 2017. Students will meet the faculty and advisory board in an opening orientation to the speaking industry and the Academy program to build your business. The Academy program continues to meet monthly on the second Saturday of each month, through to November 11th.

If it appears that the Speakers Academy is a good fit for you, we will notify you of your approval and request the first payment.

Tod Novak, President, is referred to as America's Sales and Motivational Expert, and is CEO of The Novak Group. His compelling book is called "Has Technology Left Us Speechless?" Tod was AOL's #1 salesperson and holds the national sales record out of 50,000 people, and increased one of his client's profits 400 million dollars Starting his first business at the age of 9, Tod has a lifetime of "real world" business experience. Tod is Founder and Past President of NSA New Mexico, and has been a proud member of the National Speakers Association for 13 years.
Joel Block, President Elect, Joel is CEO of the Bullseye Capital Fund and founder of the National Association of Syndicators. Joel is a nationally recognized expert in Private Placements, Reg D Offerings, Operating Agreements, deal structure, valuations, tax issues and capital raising approaches with both accredited and non-accredited Investors. And though he doesn’t admit it often, Joel is also a CPA. His work has appeared in the Los Angeles Times, Wall Street Journal, Forbes Small Business, Entrepreneur Magazine, Investor's Business Daily, and the Los Angeles Business Journal. Joel is a professional member of the National Speakers Association, where he holds the prestigious Certified Speaking Professional designation plus he is a member of the elite NSA Million Dollar Speakers Group.
Jim Cathcart, CSP, CPAE, is a Motivational Expert, Sales Consultant, Entertainer & Author of 16 books including international best-sellers, The Acorn Principle and Relationship Selling. He's in the Sales & Marketing Hall of Fame since 2012 and voted TOP 5 Sales/Service Speakers 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 & 2014. 5 yrs. in a row! Radio Host Recipient of the Golden Gavel Award and The Cavett Award. Past president: National Speakers Association. 39 years of professional presentations to over 2,900 clients worldwide.
Darren Kavinoky is an American criminal lawyer and television journalist and creator of the television show Deadly Sins on Investigation Discovery. He is also a Certified Intervention Professional. Darren is an on-air legal analyst and a special correspondent for the syndicated show The Insider, on legal, political, and pop-culture issues. He has also appeared on Entertainment Tonight, NBC's Today Show, Dr. Phil, CNN Headline News, and other national/local television and radio programs. Darren contributes a video blog to The Insider. Currently on the Board of Directors of NSA's Greater Los Angeles Chapter.
Connie Pheiff, MBA, MCC is the current President of the NSA/GLAC and is best known as the Queen of the Ask, the attitude and achievement expert. Connie is a master trainer helping experts worldwide engage and achieve more. Visionary leaders are quickly able leverage their unique talents into an influential leader and persuasive team builder. She is a powerhouse in business creating cultures of engagement and excellence. Clients include trade associations; corporations and entrepreneurs looking to become highly paid speakers & trainers. Connie is a board member of the Greater Los Angeles National Speakers Association & Toastmasters Int'l.
Tom Oser, PhD, MBA, is the Former Dean of the 2015 Academy and a Past President of the NSA/GLAC. He is a business strategist, sales leader and recovering technology. As a senior executive for a U.S. based manufacturer, he led over $300 MM in annual sales, finishing in the top spot for the last five years running. He speaks on sales management, business strategy, operations and technology management. He is an adjunct member at PENN in Tech Mgt.
